Since 2018, over 300 street children around the city of Kigali, enrolled in the sports for reintegration program and we have records that they are safely reintegrated in their families, talented ones are playing under Umuri Academy Program.

5,000 young people were reached through football matches into which we integrated lessons of character building, behavior change and educational attainment. 200 street children were involved by categorizing them in 15 teams. They were all reintegrated in their families. Parental engagement was done by building a day to day communication between coaches, parents and local leaders. 66 former street children went back to school and we provided schooling materials for them. 44 former street children with shining football talents were registered for a bi-weekly coaching practices weekly coaching practices We provided 800 free HIV Testing and 200 free circumcision services by working with Health Centers. 250 girls were provided with sanitary pads 100 jerseys were produced for coaches, project staff and local authorities branded with our key messages. 360 jerseys were produced for young players branded with the message encouraging child right protection. Training workshops for Umuri Foundation’s 20 peer coaches. 4 players of Umuri Academy were promoted to the U-17 National Team. 12Players were promoted into the Second Division of the National Football Championship. 50 children are enrolled in the coaching program.
